A way with words
I’ve loved words as long as I can remember! As a kid, my favorite pastime was to lose myself in a story, whether I was listening to it, reading it, thinking it, or writing it. Naturally detail-oriented, I'm the type of person who finds errors in published materials without trying—they just jump out at me.
After getting my bachelor's in environmental sciences at U.C. Berkeley, I developed my editing talents in rural Plumas County, California, where I copy edited five regional newspapers for several years. During that time I also began freelancing: editing ASCE journal articles and academic theses, and writing newsletters and other materials. For the past year, I have served as the public relations director for Plumas Charter School, creating weekly press releases for publication online and in local newspapers and managing the school's Facebook page with daily updates. I look forward to helping other Plumas County businesses and organizations spread the word about the distinctive services and opportunities they provide!
I live off the grid with my partner Chuck, two boys, and one large dog in a small elliptical cabin in the woods. One of my fondest hopes is that my kids will enjoy words to the extent I do.
